Glorious Grandparenting offers practical advice and guidance

For some modern-day grandparents, life isn’t always easy. Many find they must tread carefully through a minefield of issues such as divorce and limited access to their grandchildren, feeling ‘taken for granted’ as a childminder, and having to balance views on manners, discipline, food and other aspects of childrearing.

Gloria Hunniford is the proud, keen and enthusiastic grandmother to nine wonderful grandchildren (5 of them step-grandchildren). Over the years they have brought joy and, frankly, kept her on her toes.

Glorious Grandparenting is a personal account of what it is to be a grandmother. Gloria Hunniford was born in Northern Ireland and was the first woman to have her own daily radio show on BBC Radio 2, which she presented for thirteen years until 1995.

She has appeared on and presented numerous shows including Gloria Live, Wogan, Holiday, Songs of Praise, her own LWT chat show Sunday, Sunday and for five years Open House with Gloria which gave Channel Five its highest ever ratings. Currently she is presenting the BBC shows Cash in the Attic, Cash in the Celebrity Attic and the consumer programme Rip Off Britain. She has won several prestigious awards including TV Personality of the Year, Radio Personality of the Year and a Lifetime Achievement Award.
