BABYFOOTPRINT captures one of the first moments of a baby
(09/03/2010)
Hello Baby is the first UK stockist of BABYFOOTPRINT, a beautiful and practical way to capture one of the first moments of a baby.
Created by Berlin based artist Marlies Von Soden, the product uses baby safe pink foam to gently take an impression of a newborn’s foot. The pink foam is boxed in a white cover, embossed with either gold or silver letters. To capture a footprint simply press the sleeping child’s foot onto the soft foam and the shape of the newborn’s foot will be permanently recorded. The footprint can be stored away as a special baby memory along with the usual photographs, or can be displayed on a shelf or desk.
The idea for BABYFOOTPRINT followed from Marlies Von Soden’s artistic exploration of materials and shapes. With the BABYFOOTPRINT, she employs a special type of foam to make an utterly original and practical way to record a baby's footprint. BABYFOOTPRINT is sold is in Germany, Paris, Milano and Japan and has even caught the attention of the MoMA in New York.
Trevor Ginn, Managing Director at Hello Baby, says: “New parents can be overwhelmed by the amount of baby products available to them. However, we believe that the originality and style of the BABYFOOTPRINT really makes this product stand out. This is a beautiful product which will add a touch of art to the experience of new parents.”
The BABYFOOTPRINT retails at £19.50.
