Fun crashes and explosions for the whole family
(24/09/2009)
Blast Lab is one of the BBC’s flagship children’s programmes and has been a massive ratings hit with both parents and kids alike, broadcast on BBC1, BB2 and CBBC. Richard Hammond’s Blast Lab Blow-Ups is new DVD Special taken from the children’s science-based entertainment show. The 2 hour-long DVD Special features The Lablympic Games and The Blastas. The former is an adrenaline-filled extravaganza with 6 specially filmed explosive stunts and experiments, whilst The Blastas is an irreverent awards ceremony celebrating the very best stunts from the TV series.
Blast Lab is set in a surreal, fictitious underground laboratory in the grounds of Richard Hammond’s stately home. In the explosive, fun-filled children’s game show, each episode focuses on a different scientific theme or principle. Two teams compete in various experiments – from building rockets that demonstrate Newton’s third law to exploring the properties of water tension – and get to take home a prize, while the losers get to blow theirs up – all in the name of science of course.
And now, for the first time you can own this spectacular Blast Lab DVD Special, jam-packed with awesome explosions, sensational stunts and astonishing experiments. Hang onto your seatbelts for a non-stop barrage of mind-boggling mayhem and pointless destruction. It will make childrens’ jaws drop, parents’ mouths gape in amazement and grandparents’ false teeth fall out completely!
It’s anarchic, fun and highly educational: children (and some big kids too) can cast aside the text books and experience science brilliantly brought to life. Richard explains the scientific theory behind each stunt, sending his Lab Rats (aka disposable assistants and gullible guinea pigs) into the field to test principles to the max with spectacular and sometimes unexpected results.
Its fun for the whole family with crashes, smashes and explosions bursting out of the TV screen - science has never been more thrilling! Expect the daft and the silly, the explosive and messy, as well as spectacular never-seen-before stunts and blazing explosions.
