Bliss Sunshine Fund helps support sick and premature babies

When a premature or sick baby makes it through against the odds, it’s a real cause for celebration. Families who’ve lived through the trauma and anxiety of having a baby in special care often want to express their joy by ‘giving something back’ in return for support they’ve received.
Bliss is launching a new way to celebrate your child’s life while raising vital funds for the charity at the same time. Sunshine Funds are a great way to help Bliss to continue providing support for premature and sick babies and their families throughout the UK. With a Bliss Sunshine Fund, named after your child or your family, the celebration can be turned into something more lasting.
A Sunshine Fund can be started at any time. Some people like to set up a Fund after they bring their baby home from hospital, while others may kick off their Fund to celebrate a wedding, birthday or anniversary.
It’s completely up to you when and how you contribute to your Fund. You could take part in a sponsored event and ask family and friends to donate, or contribute to your Fund with a monthly Direct Debit. Bliss can provide materials to help you fundraise, including announcement cards, special greetings cards designed for special occasions, a range of fundraising ideas - you can even have your own dedicated web page. Your Sunshine Fund will not only help support sick and premature babies, but it will also enable Bliss to provide vital support to thousands of families across the UK.
Lisa Hawkins mum to little Emily who was born at just 26 weeks gestation said, “Emily spent ten weeks in hospital before we could take her home and we are so thankful that she managed to overcome so many challenges and is now a healthy, happy little girl. We decided to set up a Sunshine Fund so that other babies and parents can benefit from the wonderful work Bliss does.
