According to the American Centre for Disease Control, good hand hygiene could eliminate close to half of all cases of food borne illnesses.

Children across the UK are learning the right way to clean their hands properly with a new educational liquid soap that has launched in Tesco.

Through an ingenious ink pad built in the dispenser pump, a child is literally ‘inked’ as they depress the pump dispenser. The ink won’t come off until they’ve washed their hands for at least 20 seconds, ensuring their hands are thoroughly clean.

It has been launched into 300 Tesco stores by a company called HomePride, which holds exclusive rights to the product. Managing Director Matt Stockdale said: “Learning is easier for children when they are having fun. And that’s what Squid Soap is all about, making something as vital as good hand hygiene a game.

“My daughter, Lauren who is 8 won’t keep away from it, she thinks it’s great. I’ve never known a child wash their hands so much!”

Squid Soap is in a box and bottle you can’t miss, as it has multi coloured squid tentacles poking out the front of the pack.
