TheAlloy and Küster create JellyBaby changing mat from memory foam
(09/05/2008)
The latest ‘must have’ accessory for the new parent is the JellyBaby changing mat® from Küster. TheAlloy designed the JellyBaby changing mat to provide an up to date solution to changing a baby’s nappy.
Rejecting PVC plastic as the generic material of choice, TheAlloy and Küster created the changing mat from memory foam, a unique material that is warm to the touch, soft and moulds naturally to the shape of the body. The Jellybaby changing mat® is contoured to fit baby perfectly so it is comfortable and protective and its unique shape helps prevent baby from rolling off the mat.
“A wet baby is an uncomfortable baby,” says Nina Warburton, Director, TheAlloy. ‘This is exacerbated by the cold, unforgiving and non-supportive nature of the traditional changing mat. The infant associates changing with discomfort, and this is why they always seem to cry whenever laid down for a nappy change. Addressing this problem was our starting point for the design of the Küster Jellybaby changing mat.”
Küster MD, Stephen Kuster said “Küster creates beautiful and useful products for children. We understand the desire of parents to provide a happy, stimulating and safe world for growing children and our collection clearly reflects this. Not only is the Jellybaby changing mat ergonomically designed, but we have made it easy to wipe clean and have used a special high tech material that’s warm to the touch making changing time a much happier experience for both parents and their babies.”
“Designing baby care products comes with its own set of unique challenges,” said Warburton. “Alloy has built a solid reputation in this market, with our range of hi-tech digital baby monitors for BT. Now we are embracing the opportunity of co-creating with Küster. Together our range of products will mean that caring for baby is an easier, more stylish and enjoyable experience.”
