From its humble birth in Norway back in 1972 the Tripp Trapp® has come a long way, clocking up over six million sales across the world with a design that has remained unchanged through two generations. When the Stokke Tripp Trapp was launched back in 1972, it revolutionised children’s seating. Designer Peter Opsvik had observed his young son sitting uncomfortably on an adult sized chair with his feet dangling and his arms still unable to rest on the table top.

For Peter, the simple solution was to lift the level for the chair’s ‘floor’, which in turn lifted the child up, so that he could comfortably rest his elbows on the table whilst maintaining a stable ‘floor’ under his feet.

This proved to be a natural solution that allowed freedom and variation of movement for the child whilst allowing them to take an active part in the all important family life around the table.

In its 35th year as parents become more concerned about the growing childhood obesity crisis sales are at an all time high.

The Tripp Trapp® has of course secured more than a fair share of awards in its long history and across most of Scandinavia Tripp Trapp is used as the generic name for highchair just as Hoover is to vacuum cleaner.

What makes the Tripp Trapp® so special is its simplicity and usability. Whilst other highchairs are simply that, the Tripp Trapp® is fully adjustable in both height and depth which means that it can be easily adjusted to accommodate the size and needs of a growing child, offering a comfortable seat that can be used well into adulthood.

Now available in ten natural and vibrant colours, with co-ordinating cushions, baby set and safety harness to ensure optimum comfort and safety whatever the age of the child.
