Drugs used to treat bleeding after giving birth can reduce a woman's ability to breastfeed

The British Journal of Gynaecology has recently released a study which suggests that drugs used to treat bleeding after giving birth can hinder milk production and reduce a woman’s ability to breastfeed. A team of researchers in Swansea collected data on more than 48,000 women who gave birth whilst analysing what effects the two drugs; oxytocin and ergometrine had on the women and breastfeeding.
