It was reported following a scientific study carried out at US and Danish universities, that women who took a multivitamin supplement around the time of conception reduced their risk of giving birth prematurely (before 37 weeks) by 16%. The study also found a link between taking multivitamin supplements and a reduced risk (17%) of the baby being born underweight.
