Eight of the ten best sellers on the Price Minister list are written for children
(26/02/2010)
Children’s books are top of the Price Minister list, with eight of the ten best sellers this year written for children.
Top of the list is the educational Jolly Phonics Workbook, by Sara Wernham, Lib Stephen and Susan M. Lloyd, and published by Jolly Learning Limited. The Jolly Phonics Workbook supports the reading scheme that many children learn in schools, and its popularity is testament to how keen British parents are to support their children’s education.
In second place, is the eternally popular children’s book by Eric Carle, The Very Hungry Caterpillar; and third on the list is Pig Gets Stuck by Heather Amery and Stephen Cartwright.
All of the books in the top ten were purchased cheaper on the PriceMinister.co.uk website than the recommended retail price. In fact, someone buying all of the books in the top ten at PriceMinister would save a total of £20.25 compared to the publishers’ recommended prices.
The top ten books were:
1. Jolly Phonics Workbook by Sara Wernham, Lib Stephen and Susan M. Lloyd (Jolly Learning Ltd.)
2. The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle (Puffin)

PriceMinister has almost 3 million discounted books, covering a diverse range of subjects, from alphabet learning to quantum theory, and a variety of styles, from collections of short stories to encyclopaedias. Unlike other internet auctions sites, such as eBay, it also acts as a trusted third party to facilitate the transaction between sellers and buyers. This enables it to guarantee that any transactions are carried out quickly and securely, that the seller is paid, and that the buyer is refunded in the case of defective, damaged or undelivered products.
