Sell and eat cupcakes to make a difference to the lives of sick and premature babies
(28/01/2010)
Bliss has launched its fundraising initiative Cake A Difference and is calling on everyone in the UK to get involved. Cake A Difference week runs from 8-14 February 2010 and Bliss is asking you to bake, sell and eat cupcakes to make a difference to the lives of sick and premature babies and their families.
Being able to kiss or touch your new born baby is something most parents take for granted. Imagine if your baby was born too early or too sick and you couldn’t kiss your baby for hours, days or even weeks. This is a reality for thousands of families each year. By taking part in Cake A Difference you will be raising vital funds to help Bliss’ work in supporting these families through was is an extremely difficult time.
Taking part in Cake A Difference couldn’t be easier. You don’t have to be a master chef to Cake A Difference, we even provide you with a simple cupcake recipe to get you started. All you need to do is make and bake your cupcakes and then sell them and send your proceeds to Bliss. You can have your cake sale at work, at your mother and baby group, school, nursery, sports club or church. Get family and friends involved in the baking, selling and advertising your cake sale too. You can even add your Cake A Difference event to our blog at www.cakeadifference.org to drum up business.
Katie Simmons, Bliss National Projects Manager said,” Around 82,000 babies are born needing specialist care each year in the UK. By supporting Bliss and taking part in Cake A Difference you will be helping us to make a real difference to them and their families.”
