Little Pencil workshop encourages children to create in response to music
(16/06/2009)
Each month, one of London’s leading illustrators heads the children’s workshop Little Pencil at the ICA encouraging children to create in response to music.
Based on the concept of Heavy Pencil, where illustrators draw in response to music with the results unfolding and projected onto the walls of the ICA bar, Little Pencil encourages children to produce work to music by playing them a song, explaining the lyrics and then setting them the task of creating pictures to match them.
Each scene is filmed and projected in time to the music and the kids can watch it on big plasma screen in the new ICA Reading Room.
Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Friday 19 June – 5-6pm
Galia Durant, artist and musician from magical playtime band Psapp (Domino) leads the workshop.
